Introduction to Blueprint Reading - In Person (2/18, 2/25, 3/4, 3/11)
Due to student demand, the Introduction to Blueprint Reading curriculum has been expanded to cover 4 days of classroom instruction. Textbook and plans will be provided, and the instructor will cover basic materials and construction methods for the following divisions:
· Blueprint Drawings and Specifications
· Symbols and Conventions
· CSI Divisions
· Use of Architect’s Scale and Engineer’s Scale
· Civil, Sitework, Utilities
· Structural Steel
· Reinforced Concrete
· Building Finishes Construction
· HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical Systems
· Contract Documents
Because of the short nature of this course, students should consider this a general overview of a lot of topics and materials devoted to reading a set of blueprints. Students will come away with a better understanding of commercial blueprint reading, and will develop proficiency with continued practice.
