Culture of CARE Program

COC tag logo

The AGC Culture of Care Program aims to build cultures that attract, retain, and empower the workforce of the construction industry. Our Board of Directors acknowledges there are many ways to accomplish this, but they have decided to focus on mental health and wellbeing for the industry; diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace; and supplier diversity across our members.

To get involved in our Culture of Care program, please check out our three working groups listed below. Contact info@agccolorado.org

Mental Health Working Group:

Identifies and vets resources for the industry, leads and curates annual cornhole fundraiser, collaborates to create new initiatives, and identifies training opportunities to support our industry on the topics of stress management, emotional health, mental health, substance use, suicide prevention, and grief.

Events:

  • Cornhole for the Soul: Suicide Prevention Fundraiser (September)

Culture of Care/ DEI Working Group:

A hub for sharing best practices for DEI, elevating worker experience, and changing workplace culture. This group will help identify industry training/education that will have a large impact on AGC membership.

Events:

  • Women in Construction Kick-off (March)
  • Construction Inclusion Kick-off (October)

Supplier Diversity Working Group:
Created for our MWBE, DBE, SBE, and VBE member companies to find quality connections, thrive as members of AGC, and grow their business pipeline. We accomplish this by bolstering GC and subcontractor supplier diversity efforts.

Events:

  • Make the Connection (May)
  • Make the Connection (Nov)

Commit to a Culture of CARE in your Company

Now more than ever it is important that construction sites and offices across the country be welcoming and inclusive places to work. In that light, the AGC of Colorado is urging our construction industry partners to take the Culture of CARE pledge and work with us to continue building an industry that is diverse, safe, welcoming, and inclusive for all.

The companies who commit to a Culture of CARE aren’t passively thinking about their company culture. They are actively working to ensure that every employee – from the CEO to the laborer – has the opportunity to feel valued, respected, and heard. Companies who commit to a Culture of CARE believe that everyone has the right to a work environment that is free from harassment, hazing and bullying. See the list of Impact Champions who have already taken the pledge.
