The Supervisory Training Program (STP), is a 6-Unit, 140-hour curriculum developed, updated and field-tested by and for contractors. These units are designed to stand alone, and need not be taken in any particular order. Take a few units or take them all, depending on the skills you want to cultivate.
STP Unit 4: Contracts & Documents
In STP Unit 4, you will learn about:
· Contract Documents: Relationship of Contract Documents to the Construction Process and the Superintendent's Work; Contract Terms.
· Contractual Relationships: Contract Types; Legal Roles and Responsibilities; Project Documents; Alternative Dispute Resolution.
· Contract Forms and Documents: Standardized Forms; Regulatory Issues; Liens; Bonds; Insurance.
· Managing General Conditions: Articles of General Conditions; Levels of Decision-Making Authority; Supervisor as Agent of the Contractor; Closing Out a Project.
· Construction Field Documentation: Documentation Principles; Meetings; Issue Files.
· Scope Changes: Cost Overruns; Changes Clause; Legal Requirements Necessitated by Changes; Cost Recovery; DIfferent Site Conditions.
· Time Impacts: Time Related Activities; Extensions; Consequences of Time Impacts.
· Disputes: Disputes; Claims and Resolutions; Dispute Resolution Process.
