This is a hybrid course that allows you to complete, at your own pace, reading assignments, on-line courses, and workbook exercises during the week (approximately 3-4 hours per week), and connect LIVE weekly with the Instructor, and other learners for a 1 ½ hour “Live Learning Lab” to review workbook answers and ask questions.
This course builds upon the foundation basic print reading skills by adding further understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Skills learned in this course will be utilized throughout your construction career and include reading and understanding different types of heating and cooling systems, HVAC symbols, electrical terms, electrical schedules, electrical drawing types, plumbing systems, plumbing fixtures, plumbing diagrams and you will be able to explain the three stages of plumbing installation.
The text was written, and the course is taught by experienced commercial construction professionals and utilizes an online learning platform that organizes materials and content that is available two (2) years after you complete the course.
