Membership Benefits
AGC membership provides all the tools you need to grow a successful
company.
Health Insurance
The Colorado Contractors Trust offers the best and lowest cost group
health insurance plan in Colorado. And, it is a trust managed by
contractors for contractors.
One of the most popular benefits of AGC/C membership is the Colorado
Contractors Trust, a self-funded employee benefit program.
The plan is available to employers who are members of either the
Colorado Contractors Association, Inc. (our heavy highway sister
organization) or the AGC of Colorado, Building Chapter, Inc. who
have at least two-full time employees. There are currently over
150 employers participating on behalf of approximately 4,200 employees
and their families.
The Colorado Contractors Trust was established under a Trust Agreement
dated March 29, 1968 for the purpose of providing a health and welfare
plan for the benefit of eligible employees of participating employers.
The plan became self-funded effective March 1, 1985 and Pacific
Mutual underwrites the life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment
and stop loss coverages.
Colorado Contractors Trust is
- Administered by Contractors for Contractors
- Self-Funded
- Predictable Cost
- Immediate Claims Payment
- Comprehensive Benefits

Workers Comp Insurance
Colorado's best performing group workers comp program, sponsored
by Pinnacol Assurance offers:
- 4% up front premium discount
- A dividend feature that last year returned over $1 million to
participating firms
The AGC/C, in cooperation with several brokers, provides members
with a Worker's Compensation Dividend Program. All AGC/C members
are eligible to participate.
The plan features a 4% premium discount on the front end of the
premium year. An added benefit of the program is that premiums are
based on an individual firm's performance, not the performance of
the entire group.
The plan also offers a loss prevention service, two dividend opportunities
and coverage in nearly most states. During the seven years the program
has been in existence, it has returned over $1.1 million to the
participants.
The AGC/CCA Workers' Compensation Dividend Program has been in
existence since October 1, 1992. The pool has grown from 50 to 68
member firms with more than $3.8 million paid in dividends to the
group and individual firms.
To date, the pool has five AGC/C member firms acting as brokers
to the pool: HRH of Colorado; IMA of Colorado; Lockton Companies
of Colorado; Moody Insurance Agency, Inc.; Olson & Olson, Ltd.;
and, Van Gilder Insurance.

AGC actively supports legislation beneficial to the construction
industry and opposes bills that are detrimental. AGC also has constant
communications with all parties involved in the regulatory process.
AGC/C also has an on-going liaison committee with the city of Denver,
and establishes liaison committees with other governmental bodies
as the need arises. The AGC/C also has established lines of communication
with community building officials and tax auditors.
The AGC/C Legislative Committee provides direction as to the AGC/C
legislative policy, carries out the legislative policy of the AGC/C,
represents the AGC/C before the legislature and recommends ways
of meeting legislative goals.
Finally, the organization activity supports pro-construction candidates
through state and local PAC contributions.
The AGC of America, our national organization, is the voice of
the commercial construction industry in Washington D.C. For information
on national issues, go to www.agc.org.
Medical Locator Service
AGC of Colorado can register your job site with the closest medical
clinics available. The AGC/C furnishes maps and directions to the
closest clinics to be posted in job site trailers and distributed
to employees.
In case of a non-life threatening incident, your insurance information
is already at the clinic so your employee is treated quickly and
can return to work quickly as well. The service also saves money,
in that clinic treatment is less expensive than emergent care.
Forms and Publications
The AGC of America has a Contract Document Program
created by its national Contract Documents Committee. The committee
advocating equitable risk allocation between owners, architects,
engineers and contractors; creating and endorsing a comprehensive
family of documents and educating all parties in their use; providing
critical information to the industry on contract documents issues;
and reinforcing AGC's commitment to Skill, Responsibility and Integrity
through contracts.
The CDC currently is composed of over 100 members, who are contractors,
specialty contractors, attorneys and other industry professionals.
They develop and revise a comprehensive offering of standard form
documents and related materials that cover the major project delivery
approaches of design-bid-build, program management, construction
management, and design-build.
At present, AGC publishes more than 30 standard form contract documents
and related materials (of which 9 documents relate to design-build,
8 to construction management, 15 to design-bid-build or to subcontracting,
and 1 to program management). AGC also makes available for purchase
many of its documents in electronic format. All AGC products are
available through AGC's Publications Department (phone: 202-393-2040;
fax: 202-737-5011) or may be ordered online at AGC's Web Site at
www.agc.org.

Contractors and Subcontractors to discuss areas of mutual concern.

industry and propose solutions to those problems. (Link to Subcontractor

questions on hiring, firing, drug testing and other employment issues.
We also have Davis-Bacon rates and an annual survey.
Internships/Scholarships
The AGC/C is involved with two types of internships
to support career development. One type of internship is for university
students and the other is for high school students exploring careers
in construction. Available internships with member companies are
listed on 'Construction Careers' on the AGC/C Web Site.
Colleges/University
AGC/C supports construction industry internships
by providing on campus an AGC/C "Internship Interviewing Day"
in coordination with the University of Colorado and Colorado State
University along with the AGC student chapters. On "Interviewing
Day, member companies interview students for available summer internships.
High Schools
Through the "Construction Futures"
program, a high school student or recent graduate age 17 and over,
is able to participate in a paid summer internship for a member
construction company, subcontractor, supplier or construction professional
to explore what is involved in a construction career. Information
on the program is promoted by AGC/C in the schools through high
school Career Days, high school Job Fairs, high school counselors
and classroom visits. During the summer internship the student will
explore the various roles and tasks involved in the construction
process.
Additional support is provided to Career Education and Technical
Education high schools by encouraging students to enroll in the
construction classes offered by those schools. The AGC/C office
disseminates information on these programs as well as providing
information on post high school apprenticeship and trades programs.
Information on scholarships is available on www.agc.org

All this and more gives AGC members a competitive edge in a
competitive business.
