  • Workforce Development
    Advance the SHOP Act through the 2019 Legislative Session to support Capital Construction & Equipment Funding for CTE Programs

    Seek exemption from current CDLE regulations to allow 15-17 year-olds to perform paid internships on construction jobsites

    Apply for WORK Act Cycle 5 funding

    Support Federal Perkins Act Funding Changes – encourage use for construction programs in high schools


    Support 2019 legislative efforts to encourage more affordable & attainable housing
    Oppose 1% residential growth limitation measure on Nov. 2019 or 2020 state ballot. Oppose Ballot Question on the July 2019 ballot in Lakewood. Partner with CHBA, Colorado Concern, DMCC, NAIOP and other business associations in an issue committee for both state and Lakewood.

    Oppose Initiative 300 on the May 2019 ballot in Denver.


    State Capital Construction & Controlled Maintenance
    Support additional Funding for BEST grants for K-12 school construction 

    Highlight the need to fund 1% of Current Replacement Value (CRV) of state buildings for Controlled Maintenance annually.  Current CRV is $14B for 2,200 buildings at 44 state agencies and higher education so $140M should be budgeted annually.  The state has met this target only twice in 20 years and the average amount is under $30M. 


    Infrastructure & Transportation Funding
    Support additional general fund appropriations for state & local transportation improvements.


    Business Regulations
    Work through a dozen AGC supported coalitions and organizations to oppose regulations that will hurt construction industry or the overall business climate. Coalitions and organizations include:
